A bright sunny coloured crocheted handbag in orange raffia trimmed with two rows of pretty handmade orange flowers finished with hoop handles in bamboo.

This simple decorative cocoon shaped handbag is unlined and crocheted in one piece from orange dyed raffia, trimmed at the top with rows of decorative handmade raffia flowers. A great lightweight everyday handbag. I imagine it being a pretty summer bag for a young girl, maybe as a bridesmaid present. Bright and cheerful, it would go with dresses, jeans, a bikini, or, more formally with a 'best dress'.

Natural paper raffia is an eco friendly bio degradable and recyclable organic material made from natural plant fibres. Surprisingly strong, yet very lightweight it makes an ideal material for bag construction. These bags are durable and easy to care for. As long as not allowed to soak, they can be maintained with gentle washing, swished in warm soapy water, then patting dry with a towel.
