A simple cocoon crocheted handbag in green and beige raffia trimmed back and front with a band of handmade flowers and fitted with dark wood hoop handles.

This simple unfussy natural shaped handbag is crocheted in a mix of soft green and beige raffia. Unlined and made in one piece as a cocoon shaped shell and trimmed at the top either side with a row of decorative handmade raffia flowers. A summery bag, great for country life, village fêtes, county shows, gymkhanas etc. It would compliment equally as well a linen trouser suit or soft billowing skirt.

The natural paper raffia I use is an eco friendly bio degradable and recyclable organic made from natural plant fibres. It is robust and strong, yet very lightweight and well suited for making bags that are durable and easy to care for. As long as not allowed to soak, they can be maintained with gentle washing, swished in warm soapy water, then patting dry with a towel.
